Kara Root is the pastor of Lake Nokomis Presbyterian Church and the primary blogger and creative force behind this project as it is lived out in the local congregation.

Sue, Cyndi, Aleta, Susan, Jo and Jeanne are the worship ministry team at Lake Nokomis.  They spent a few months studying and discussing The Promise of Despair, and along with Kara, creatively work to bring this theological perspective to life in a variety of ways, involving art, music, prayer practices, and interactive worship experiences.

Andrew Root is the author of The Promise of Despair and participates through occasional preaching at the Saturday service.

Theresa Latini is the Parish Associate at Lake Nokomis.  As growing honesty and expanding vulnerability work their way into worship, she assists the congregation to deepen hospitality for each other and strengthen compassionate communication through adult education, retreats and group facilitation.
